Friedrich von Wiesner reports for the Austro-Hungarian Empire that Serbia not responsible for the Archduke's assassination
On July 13, Friedrich von Wiesner, who had been assigned by the Austro-Hungarian empire to look into the assasination of the Archduke, reported “There is nothing to prove or even suppose that the Serbian government is accessory to the inducement for the crime, its preparation, or the furnishing of weapons. On the contrary, there are reasons to believe that this is altogether out of the question.”
This one report should have stopped war preperations in its tracks, as individual criminal actions was not cause for war. The report though was downplayed as Austo-Hungary, at the urging of German, were interested in solving the "Balkan's Question" once and for all.
